Beatrice Mateo

Beatrice has worked in the field of management development and as a trainer and consultant for over fifteen years, helping managers from a wide variety of different sectors face the complex challenges that today’s business world presents. She has extensive experience in designing and implementing programmes aimed at individual, team and organizational improvement.

Beatrice commenced her professional career in the mid-1980s at Arthur Andersen where she first worked in the Change Management Consultancy division implementing plans for the facilitation of change in various multinational companies caused by mergers, acquisitions, system and process changes and cultural transformation. She later transferred to the United States where she worked in Andersen’s Centre of Training, situated in Chicago, where she formed part of the design and delivery team responsible for creating and rolling out the professional development curriculum in Interpersonal Skills for the firm worldwide. In this role Beatrice worked in the offices of both Arthur Andersen and Andersen Consulting (today Accenture) as trainer and coach for managers and partners in Europe, the United States, Asia and Africa.

In 1995 Beatrice began her career as an independent consultant. Almost immediately she was chosen to form part of the international team of consultants for Accenture for whom she has delivered hundreds of programmes in ten different countries. During this period she also began to work for other prestigious training companies such as the Center for Creative Leadership (CCL), the Executive Learning Center of Mercer Delta/Oliver Wyman, and also with Deloitte & Touche.

Beatrice’s education is impressive: she graduated in Law at the Completense University in Madrid and later did her Masters of Science in Learning and Organizational Change at the prestigious Northwestern University/Kellogg School of Management, in Evanston, Illinois, having received a Fulbright scholarship. She is accredited in the use of many different 360º feedback and personality inventories like Benchmarks, MBTI, FIRO B, Conflict Dynamics Profile, Herman Brain Dominant Instrument and Values on Line.

I began my relationship with Beatrice while she was at Arthur Andersen, for whom I worked as an external consultant. As soon as she became an independent consultant in 1995 I included her in the team for our Open Leadership Programme. She then became a permanent member for our tailor-made in-company projects. Since then Beatrice has worked with me in dozens of projects in more than thirty different organizations. Her extensive experience of a wide variety of training contexts, her education in Organizational Learning and Change and her complete fluency in English, French and Spanish has made her a senior and highly valued member of the team at Douglas McEncroe Group.
